just an Idea do you ever buy stuff that has bags of dessicant in the pack?

never throw it away, keep it in the airing cupboard or somewhere REALLY dry........excellent for situations such as this........it sucks the moisture out of what ever is damp!!

Trouble is I believe the contract dies with some phones. Reason I asked was OH buys samsung phones that have been 'washed' off ebay, fixes them and re-sells them, you would be surprised how many people do it. Loads of broken phones for sale on ebay.

Right from my days with one of the big players in the mobile industry:

Water damage will not be covered by any mobile phone insurance (in fact they use it as a get out from paying up).

Its worth taking the phone apart ie battery off, sim card out and leave all parts to dry out properly and I mean properly otherwise the contacts may rust.

Before re-assembling wipe ths sim card on a clean lint free cloth to get rid of any grease and finger marks and then re-assemble...then cross your fingers

Hi Mel,
Take the back of the phone off, remove the battery & Sim card. Then either put the parts onto on a folded towel above a radiator (Dont put the parts directly on the rad) or in the airing cupboard for 24hrs.

If your lucky the phone when re-assembled will still work. The Sim card should be ok when fully dry.

If they don't insure for washing, throw it on the floor and tell them it fell out of your pocket

Very few phones survive a soaking
