Anyone else feel/felt this way or is it just me? There was a thread not so long ago about first days but this one is slightly different.

I have a 9 yr old daughter and 6 year old son who return to school Monday after their summer break. I've talked to a few Mums who can't wait for the day their children go back to school but to be honest I don't like it when mine return. I miss them when they are back in school. Sounds daft but I'd rather they be at home. But I know they need their friends besides needing an education. But then after a week I get used to the quiet again. So it doesn't last long.

Me too Janet.
I loved my children off school.... the rest of the kids in the street could go back to school, but I was always sorry when mine went.
Ah well, the time will come when you will be glad that they have grown up Janet. ;-0)

It becomes a different type of love then.
Chin up mummy,
"we will be back for tea." ;-0)

I'm looking forward to my 9 year old going back on Wednesday. It's not him so much as all his mates. There has been 8 of them in and out all day today, and up and down stairs all the time. It is nothing but noisy chaos, and the house is an absolute disgrace.

Boy will I have a blitz when they are back at school, and the house will be so silent and peaceful I will have to put some music on for a bit of company. My little dog will love the peace and quiet, she has been driven to distraction for 7 and a half weeks now.

I might even have time to get on here a bit more often too.
