Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I've been looking for my great great grandmothers grave but have had no success.

Emma Cox (nee Buckingham) died 1899 at home at 11 Bond Street, Dudley. aged 43.

I thought she would be at Dudley Cemetary, but searched and couldn't find her so I contacted Dudley Council who put me in touch with a bereavement officer. He searched the archives and told me there is no Emma Cox or Buckingham buried there. Emma's Husband John who remarried to Louisa Foxall is buried there.

I'm totally stumped. Can anyone suggest what I can do next.

Regards
Dena.

Could she have been buried in the churchyard where the funeral took place?

What about a churchyard in the area?

Or, as she was young, was she buried where she grew up - assuming that is somewhere different.

From Dena:

Hi Janice,

I thought of that but as she was born in Oxfordshire I didn't think she would have gone back there. seeing as she had a number of children. It would have been a long way for them to go.

I think I will have to visit the house if its still standing and find the nearest cemetary.

Thanks Janice

Looking at Googlemap, Bond St Dudley is in Sedgley and there is a cemetery in Sedgley.
