Good point Arctic Blond.
Any the living relatives I have on that I don't have permission from are on my tree as first name 'Living' and second name 'Relative' or in the case of my ex husband living person.
I didn't want to include my children but they begged because they thought they should be on since it was their family too. I wish I'd taken them off when they weren't looking now.

Glad it's not just me then. I didn't know at all, til it was pointed out to me in a 'How thick are you?' sort of way. xx

Hi Susan,

Go to My Account at the top and in the personal details there is an option to hide living relatives, say yes and save. You will still be able to see them on your tree but anyone else you let view your tree will only see living relative.

I add everything manually on here too. Time consuming but at least you can see where everyone is and helps you keep better track I've found.
Shirley, I agree, I think she has got the names stashed on her computer. I have all my names on but don't put additional information in, like date and place of baptism or background information, if someone has a genuine link and are alright people they can have that if they want.
I'm not one of these people who think that just cos I found the info it's mine and no one else can have it, I was very helpful to her that's what makes it worse. Grr. lol

She's probably uploading a gedcom of her home tree.

Personally I add everything her manually, so I know exactly what I'm putting on. Only about half my total tree is on here.

I allowed a member to view my tree and she added every name including my childrens - and before anyone jumps on me this was a good while ago and I know better now and have restricted what can be seen (those with date of death on). - I asked her nicely and she removed the living folk.
I removed permission to view my tree.
Then a few weeks later she had put them back on I asked her less nicely quoting the T and Cs. She removed them.
Recently when I was looking for something I noticed she had put them on again. Bearing in mind she has my entire tree copied to hers for a connection 200 years ago, so asking her to keep 7 names off isn't a hardship surely?
I contacted the genes support team and they've sorted it for me straight away.
Well done to them.
And to any Newbies, make sure you set your tree so living relatives are hidden. Learn by my mistake.
