Lol Stray ... does he go to a Bright Horizons Play Centre? At my last place of work, in a childcare centre run by that huge American based company, we were told that that word (no) should never be said to a child.

Love this thread!!!

Partly as a gran, and also because I work with the wee guys.Their sayings are priceless!

I remember watching a nature program with grand daughter." Look at the big monkey!" I say.

I get a look, and a sigh, followed by " Gran!! It's a gorilla!".

That was me told!

We were singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' at pre-school today, moving our fingers for the twinkling.
One little 3yr old girl was just sitting there with hands in her lap. When asked where her stars were she quickly replied 'It's cloudy!'

Good one.

I know that feeling! My Grand-daughter also puts hands on hips in petulant manner when I am 'wrong'!

My two year old grandson was looking through a book and I asked him if he could see anything starting with an 'a' sound (there was a large apple tree on the page)
"Duck" says he.
"Duck starts with a 'd' sound" I explained. "Can you see anything beginning with an 'a' sound?"
He paused for a moment before fixing me with a withering look and saying "A duck"

We couldn't speak for laughing.
