Is there a record of who owned/ran a public house if so where is it held and how do you get to view it? |

I have the Census and he lived there in 1861- am wondering how long he was there for and if they have old picture of the Pub/staff etc. |

My grandmother grew up in a pub, her father then her mother were the licensed victuallers. They are all listed on the census returns. There is also a series of Kellys Directories which can give details too. |

Publicans licences are granted by the local courts. You may find records in your county record office listed under "Magistrates Courts" for your area. |

Would there be the info you want in Whites or Kellys directories? If there is, you can see a lot of them on line at historical directories |
