I remember someone saying after Wimbledon that Murray was now going to concentrate on the USA Open. Its very quiet on here today, did he lose?

Oh dear, bad luck, so sorry. (not)

He did make some unfortunate comments.................

BarneyKent Report 9 Sep 2009 10:25

His PR man has told him to say his anti-English remarks were jokes, but I saw the interview. He was not joking. The interviewer asked, "Who will you be supporting now that Scotland are out of the world cup?" His reply was, "Anyone you are playing", and he meant it.

Sooner Scotland gets its independence the better.

One minor point.............Scotland aren't out of the world cup!

They have to either get a draw or win against Holland tonight to secure 2nd place in the table. With there being 9 tables. The 8 best 2nd placed teams will be play, play off games to establish the last 4 qualifying places for europe.

Scotland are currently 9th of these 2nd place teams & will need results to go their way if they're to make the play offs...............But they aren't out.

Yuk Yuk Yuk

I certainly stirred up a hornet's nest! Me not jocular? Don't be silly, I love a wind-up.

I too have Scots friends and have had many great holidays in that country. I just love having a dig at Mr. Murray, just as I do with Alex Fergusson and Gordon Brown. All three are "Dour Scots" who would not know a joke if it bit them on the bum!!!

Bit different than my drinking mate Ian, he is Scots and we just take the mick and laugh at each other all the time. Great Fun.

Come to think of it, I did see Fergusson smile once, I think a member of the other team had broken a leg................................................

As I told my Scottish brother -in- law, there are 3 good things to come out of Scotland: Him, whisky and the road to England.

He saw the joke, pity some people on GR can't.
