Would it be worth getting the recent death cert to see if the address of the informants may be family, and you could then do an electoral roll look up

I am sad to say that I cannot help you locate your father. My cousin left for Australia in 1972 and his parents were desparate to find him as they hadn't heard from him for years. The Salvation Army found my cousin in Australia and they eventually had a letter from him. After my aunt died they contacted him again and received a letter back. Goodness knows how the Salvation Army found our George but they did and, as far as I know, it is free so it's worth giving them a try.

Wishing you luck
Janet

Info from GR Member:
Hi Vicki-Louise
This could be interesting. A Herbert Marson is my wife's uncle, born (we have) 1902. Our Herbert was married to 'Eva' (they were known as Bert and Eva) and had children Eva, Ivy and Eric. This information came from his youngest sister, my 93 year old mother-in-law who is still alive, as is the next sister up, another Ivy who will be 101 this Friday.
So he may be 'your' Herbert. Sadly, I have no knowledge of who Eva married or any children, so cannot help you in your search. However, I do have details of the Marson and Izzard (our Herbert's mother's family) going back up to 4 generations. I also have one photo showing Herbert, Eva, his mother and a few other family members.
I will open our tree to you, tho' it is not complete - we use Legacy at home for the full record.
Regards
Peter

How long have you been waiting for a reply? Some folk take ages to get back to you especially if they don't realise how important it is to you.

If you send me some names I'll have a look at the free sites for you. Have you someone I could look for in 1901?
