I cannot find my Garrard ancestors in the 1851 census. They are Frederick born 1815 in Ipswich, Mary Ann born 1820 in Colchester, and their children-Frederick born 1841,Mary Ann 1844 in Cochester and Esther born 1848 in Ipswich. I have tried several sites in case of transcribing errors but no luck there either. Debtors prison, workhouse maybe? |

Do you know for sure that any or all of them were still alive then? |

I had this problem with one of my family in the 1901 census.I knew where they lived but could not bring them up on the census.Eventually I maaged to do it by entering the name of the baby. |
