Please can someone help!! I am trying to findout about an Edith Annie Elizabeth Poucher(1880)( Martin,lincs) who firstly married John Roberts and had Rose May(1900) and lived in norfolk, Apparently John roberts went to war and was presumed dead! Edith took Rose and went to Nottingham to reside with John Henry Brown(1862) Who had Gertrude(1891) and was a widow!!

Edith sometimes known as Anne or elizabeth then had the following children with Mr Brown; Winnie(1903), Doris(1905), Phyllis(1906) and Clarice(1912)

I am looking for information on John roberts side of the family, He turned up some years later after being away at war (obviously not dead!). But I cannot find any trace of him and Edith living together before she came to nottingham?

Hope someone can crack this one, it has had me baffled for weeks now!!

How do you know she lived in Norfolk if you haven't found her in a census?

Yes thats right!!

I only know that through family gossip!!

Apparently Edith and John Roberts went to live at the hat and feather pub which is no longer there?? It was supposed to be owned by the poucher family, who are related to Edith.

I have already found Ediths mum Jane poucher and all the siblings-william,john, joseph, moses, twins richard and George then Edith then Charlotte.

But can't trace where she went off with John Roberts??

Edith's Date of birth is 29th sep 1880, A relative of mine has her birth cert!! it states Eligitimate daughter of Jane Poucher!!. born in Martin, lincs.

there does not appear to be any marriage to John Roberts

Clarice's birth 1912 has MMN Poucher but there doesn't seem to be a marriage.

The only explanation is that his name wasn't John then???

Alison there aren't any Poucher/ Roberts marriages that fit

the only one even remotely possible is this one
