Strange thing: Its 70 years since the outbreak of WW2 and there are lots of CD's, books and part works being issued....in the shop I work in nearly all of the customers buying them are youngsters (15-25) who say in conversation they want to learn. the strange thing is my elderly customers say its bout time we forgot the war years and companies should stop cashing in on WW2...Me Im all for learning and remembering

Dear All

Hello

I think its great that a whole new generation are learning about the effects of war and are remembering the songs of that era.

History for youngsters comes alive when they see how people mangaged.

Very best wishes to all

Perhaps my ancestors were poorer than a lot of people's, because I certainly have a lot more freedom than they did.

Also my Father, who fought in WWII, always said that he had no wish to see the 'old days' back again.

Hi all,

I look after about 11 peeps every day and most of them are in their 90s. They tell me the most wonderful stories of themselves growing up.

I am going to record their memories of gone bye days.

One was in service as a maid in a big house. Talk about Upstairs Downstairs! All absolute bloody treasures!

ps Must go to bed now as up at 5am for the little treasures!
