AT BODIAM CASTLE THERE WAS A BOOK STALL
WITH A LARGE BOX OF BIBLES

WE FOUND ONE GIVEN TO A 14YR OLD BRIDSMAID
IN 1906

We had a bible but went missing. Use to have family names in it, but no dates.

Wish they had that when i was down there.

I had the one my Mum was given as a Sunday School prize in 1922 and used it for school, left it in my locker after the R.E. lesson and someone stole it, never got it back. I thought it was so bad for someone to steal such a thing, especially as it was of great sentimental value to my Mum.
It had a pretty printed label inside saying who it belonged to but of course, it had her maiden name in.
