Hi Dutch,

Sorry was just about to reply when someone knocked on the dooor.

Have you considered asking the local library at Camberwell to do a 1917/1918 electrol roll look up? They may charge you for this though.

Seeing that Jenny was listed as his "unoffical wife" looks like Jenny was his partner, did they have any children?

EDIT>>>>>>>>>>> I see Jenny was never named as the unoffical wife on the records, however helen still claimed his pension....... I suppose for the son they had she would be more entitled than Jenny. He was a man with a good education and career........... did he leave a will??? Is Jenny mentioned in it??

Hi Dutch!
Just a suggestion - You don't think that the "Unofficial Wife" mentioned in the records could refer to Helen? If they were divorced in 1904 then legally she wasn't his wife, but the War Office must have regarded her as some sort of wife still if she received his medals and a pension.

Would it be worth buying credits on the 1911 to look at the image and see what description is given for Jennie?

That may answer at least some of your questions.

It costs £6.95 for 60 credits, and the census image would take 30 credits.
