Thanks to all you who have replied - both to the thoughtful and the grumpy.
Working on the basis that not everyone knows how threads work, I tried to spread my net wide.
Shame if that annoys some of you.

Daff, I wonder whether we glitched because I was editing at the same time. ;)

I took the time to check the "surname boards" for several of the surnames that Linda lists here, and realized that it's the common problem -- the same post, added to several of these nonexistent trying-to-find "surname boards" (simply filtered subsets of the main trying-to-find board) that GR directs everybody to, without ever explaining that the posts also appear on the all-inclusive board.

Linda probably has no idea how the boards work, and how to read replies ... so I suppose someone should PM her ...

Actually, Janey's offer on the other thread is absolutely genuine, and would be of massive help for Linda....... if she is looking in.
That is the problem with genetic conditions, when one doesn't know the source of one's own genetic history... Please look on the *trying to find thread* Linda... although I suspect you may have deleted it..... I tried to add to it, but was told *invalid thread*

If no one knows there are other threads, everybody will be free to duplicate any efforts to help that might be made. You could all have a picnic.

I have posted in the various threads to point out that there are possibly useful replies in one of them in particular, for the benefit of anyone who might want to help. Anybody bother to click on that one and see? Like, the OFFER OF HELP that *I* made in that thread? Not that Linda seems all that interested in reading replies.

Or did you all just want to yammer and natter?

Janey I can understand why you mentioned the fact that Linda had put this same information in 4 places, but there are many of us that would not have read it elsewhere. Though we may not have those names in our own trees we may recognise the surname & condition in one of our friends or neighbours.

My two children have been diagnosed with this condition which affects their hearing and eyesight.
No-one else known with this condition in either family.
Anyone else in Fell, Baynes,Kirk, Elms, Fairbairn, Dale families with this problem? Am interested to trace the line of genetic descent of this problem.
