Today in my homeless hostel a resident came in the office to see me.Told me she was going out tomorrow and buying a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates. The flowers are for her 18 month old sons foster carer on thursday and the chocolates were for her.Her son is being adopted against her will,so she said the chocolates are for her when she says goodbye to him as she knows she is going to be so upset. She has done him a box with loads of stuff in it.My thoughts are going to be with her thursday when she will not see him anymore. Annie
That must be so hard for her and without knowing the facts of the situation, I can't judge about the adoption decision.

I remember when Mum's neighbour adopted a little boy. He too had a box filled by his birth mother. There were many little jackets etc. knitted with such care. She even included a small decorated fruit cake for his new parents to celebrate his arrival.

Mum was heartbroken for her, but he had a lovely childhood and is now a Dad himself.

I think unless a child is being badly treated that this forcible adoption is so wrong. She doesn't sound an uncaring or nasty sort to be doing what she is doing, so why on earth isn't she being given support to keep her child and bring him up herself. Please wish her all the best, how on earth can she be expected to carry on her life after losing her son like that - it would be enough to tempt her to stray off the best path I would think.

Poor girl and poor little lad, I hope his future parents are really the best ones for him and he has a happy life, and one day can meet his Mum again and learn all about his background etc.

I hope she will have lots of support too, I am sure if you have anything to do with it Annie, you will help her.
