Thanks everyone, I will be around till Sunday evening and will try and check in during my fortnight away to see how folks are, if I can find a handy internet cafe or somewhere I can use a computer.

I am pleased to say the second cheque arrived today, only took one day,now why didn't that happen with the original? Will be making major complaints to the Post Office altho I know they will just say the sender should be doing the enquiries. I let the woman who helped me sort it out know and she says no others have been reported lost or late so why mine? Something to do with my bad luck regarding post in my home area? - wouldn't be the first time I have not had mail or it's been really late.
Off to put it safely in the bank in a mo. Feel lots less stressed now.
