On my Father's side of my tree my grand mother's Father is listed as a CURRIER
Was that a skilled trade or form of labouring ?

WHY is Irish ancestry difficult to find ?

From an old occupations site:-

Currier 1) Dressed the coat of a horse with a curry comb 2) Tanned leather by incorporating oil or grease

This is the address of the site if you need it again:-

My grandfather was a Leather Currier. Mum told me that it meant that he was a 'leather colourer' and it required skill.
