Brian, stop being so pedantic.....
Would you refuse a bottle of Whisky... if it was not spelt correctly??? ;-0)

And PatKendrick, my husband is Irish.... AND a craft baker.... 'gonna try this this Christmas I think!'

Our DIL's mother usually bakes us a cake at Christmas, Don't want to hurt her, but two cakes can't go wrong.
A piece for everyone in the street....! lol

Please would you put this on Bridgets Culinary Delights, we are hoping to raise funds for the service persons in Afgahnistan so we can send christmas parcels. I am in process of talking to the Army as to the best way to do this.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup of dried fruit
1 tsp of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of brown sugar
lemon juice
nuts
1 bottle of whisky

METHOD
Sample the whisky and check for quality.
Take a large bowl.
Check the whisky again to be sure it is of the very highest quality.
Pour one level cup and drink.
Repeat.
Turn on the electric mixer.
Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. add one sppontea of sugar and beat agin.
Make sure the whisky is still OK. Have 'nother tup.
Turn off moxer.
Break two leggs and add to bowl.
Chuck in cup of dried fruit.
Take out cup.
Mix on the turner.
Sample whisky again to check for onsisticity.
Next sift two cups of salt, sugar or something, who cares?. Check whiskey.
Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one tooblespoon of brown, white, black sugar, or whatever sugar you find.
Wix mel.
Grease the oven.
Turn the cake pan to 350 gredees.
Slide into oven.
Get out of oven.
Do not forget to beat of the turner
. Throw bowl out of window. Check last of whisky and go to bed.
