when i spend all day preparing and cooking a roast dinner (at the request of my eldest who absolutely loves them) .......do I not fancy it once it's in front of me? Yet I gobble it down when someone else cooks one for me :0(

Dunno, but I'm doing the first roast I've had in a couple of months tomorrow. It's been too hot, or we keep forgetting to defrost the chicken LOL

Looking forward to it too...

Do you do what I do.......

Sample the food?

I nibble at it before it goes on the table and then I can't eat a damn thing.

I'm a nightmare with the crackling, crispy fat on the roast been fand the skin off the chicken!

No wonder I look like a piece of string tied in a knot in the middle!

I reckon you fill up on the smells of cooking and the odd bits of carrot, cabbage and so on that you chew while preparing the meal. What I hate is being told afterwards that he,d rather have had something else for dinner!

That happened to me on Monday, I did a spag bol, and he got the hump, chewed on it for a little while then put the rest in the bin, saying he didn't fancy it.

Then he had the temerity to say I hadn't told him beforehand what I was cooking!!!

Like he's ever discussed with me what he cooks, and I have to eat it like it or not, or he gets upset and takes it all personally.

MEN!!!!

I'm ok for that. My OH has a huge appetite and gratefully eats whatever is put in front of him lol.

I'm the fussy eater....... but he doesn't cook often.......when he does though it's better than minex

But that's the thing Muffy, mines a huge eater, and usually eats anything and everything, and polishes mine off too....he was just being awkward and bloody-minded on Monday night LOL.
