My guess - something to do with the standard of grammar and punctuation being taught in schools

Don't ask Hayley. Just me. Thread originator was by Unsub(????) and I DO like "Criminal Minds". It was about Teaching Assistants I think.

Ah well, I did take on board that the way people write on the www is not always an indicator of their ability to do their job so I shouldn't panic about it too much.

But, for the record, when I was a Learning Support Assistant, I walked into a classroom to see a list of things the children should have done by a certain time.

It read:
By Monday you should of...... etc

This went on for the days of the week.
When the teacher came in, (BTW, he didn't have a degree, he was a Cert Ed) I pointed it out to him. He quickly cleaned the board. The perpetrator of this gross (yet common) grammatical error?
The Newly Qualified teacher, who had been using the room previously!

I
