We have had a personalised number plate on our car for 14 years. Each year it has sailed through the MOT, but not this year, Why......because a few months ago they changed the spacing between letters requirement......A new set of number plates cost £60, not grumbling about that cost, but the DVLA sell these plates to you, then you are penalised.

Oh and by the way...you could be pulled up if you have "honeycomb" background plates...A friend was pulled over two weeks ago, but was only given a caution and told to get new plates NOW.

The spacing was set some time back and a lot of number plates were made illegal, this seems to be the way of enforcing it by the MOT.
