LOL...........Muffy that is precious..........Lol.....nothing more alarming than a determined child in search of scissors .

I've got cassette tapes with my children's voices singing , chatting etc on them but sadly no player anymore.........but I'll still keep them..........lol

School work from four children , all stuffed safely away in the loft ( where even some of my old school work lurks ).

The time goes quickly indeed !......it was my eldest Grandchilds birthday yesterday and he was seven......I'm sure that many years couldn't have really flown by already .

During our recent *dejunking* we found all sorts of treasures that we'd just left lying around......they're now all safe and labelled.

The precious curls that my 3 yr old got up at 5am, climbed on a stool and rifled to the back of the bathroom cabinet to rid herself of....she nabbed the dogs hairdressing scissors and lobbed every last bit of hair off her head .....*sobs*she looked like a window licker for months after :0(

Tape recordings of my eldest (now the most unshowy child in the world) singing and entertaining us when she was 3.

loads of things that are worth more than any money can buy....

It goes so quickly :0(

Hello Sue ............I think my house is a "memory box "..........lol

I too have the same sort of items tucked away all over the place.
I'm sure that this sort of behaviour runs in families . When my Mum died I inherited ( amoungst other things ) her Mothers work basket . Tucked away at the bottom was a scrap of folded paper , with " Mollys first hair " scibbled on it , which Nan had obviously kept all of her life .
Weird , isn't it ......the things we keep as " treasures" ?

Hi Amanda

Memory boxes are wonderful things. I've only got one (well, it's actually a carrier bag) and the things in it wouldn't mean anything to anyone else but me....

Eg: a bus ticket for a trip that took me to my first ever date
A champagne cork
The results of Rachel's first hair cut etc etc

I can nearly hear them, post me

"what was that mad woman doing, keeping an old bus ticket and a bit of manky hair in a carrier bag. Anyone want this lot? No......... into the bin it goes"

Ah, well ......

Sue x

Notes like that one are lovely little things to treasure . I often find notes that one or another of my lot wrote , I have a habit of putting them in books or boxes , scattered about all over the house . I find one now and again ( years after they where penned ) , they always make me smile : ))
