Having found say, the grooms names etc on the index, it gives also the surname of the bride.......now go to the index ref of the brides surname and you then get the grooms name plus the bride's first names..... |

I think i read somewhere that the intention was to go back on Births and marriages and to add the maiden names to the search-able indexes BUT this may have been the governments DOVE project that seems to have been shelved ?? |

I think you mean the Index doesn't show the maiden name against the groom. As Joan says, the cert does. |
