The site Marion was thinking of is this one , Hugh Wallis Genealogical Web Site, it is part of the IGI but includes middle names |

There was a search in LDS or IGI that you put in middle names and area I think, but I cant for the life of me remember the link. |

When I first joined GR (or Genes Connected as it was then) I'm sure you could search using middle names, don't know why they took that facility away, definitely a backwards move. |

It seems quite common that often a family surname is continued down the female line as a first or middle name for any offspring. |
