you can search ancestry by place not name but it is a bit fiddly

I think Jonesey put up a good thread which probably explains it better than this, but here goes

on Ancestry, go to Home, then on right hand side under Record Collections and UK Censu click on 1901

then page right down and click on relevant country e.g. 1901 England census

on next page page right down again and click on the county that you want e.g. Staffordshire

then onto parish e.g. Sedgley

depending on how large the parish is you will have to look through all the enumeration districts, but it is possible to find an address

Findmypast always used to have an address search, not sure if this is also true for the 1901

I have full subscription to ancestry but didnt seem to be able to find who lived in a particular house or place without a persons name.

I've just purchased 500 credits for 1901 census, not used it but it says I only have 425 credits. Anyone else had this problem
