My daughter is a TVN (Tissue Viability Nurse; Wounds) and is always going on about the benefits of honey as regards healing. She gave us a free sample of a lotion containing Manuka Honey so I suppose we will be hearing a lot more about this in the near future.
Daff - I had never heard of this condition (but there again, I am no nurse!). I believe that diabetics also would not be able to take the honey in these quantities.
EDIT - I was told by an old work colleague that she was unable to take honey as she was a diabetic. She could have been wrong, though. I have not looked into this. Janet

local honey is best if you have allergies
BUT.... please be aware that anyone with low neutrophils, and requiring a neutropaenic diet, must not have honey... it could have quite serious consequences. It might have killed me... although it is beneficial now my immune system has started to improve.

Weight loss: A half hour before breakfast and on an empty stomach and at night before bed, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. A tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of cinnamon powder taken on a regular basis will reduce the weight of even the most obese person. It doesn't allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.
Cancer: Stomach and bone cancers. Research in Japan and Australia have shown that patients suffering these types of cancer should take daily one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.
Hearing loss: Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon taken in equal parts is said to restore hearing.
Never boil honey or put it in a microwave as this will kill the enzymes in the honey.
Honey is the only food on earth that will not rot. If you have an old jar of it and it loooks as if it has crystallized then loosen the lid, boil some water and sit the honey container in the hot water, off the gas, and let it liquefy. Good as new!
I read somewhere that that even though honey is sweet, if it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. I'll look into that.
Well folks I hope some of the above is of use to you.
I tend to use Manuka honey which is quite expensive but any honey will do. There are so many different types of honey out there and it is a personal choice which one you like the best.
One of my friend's has recently been diagnosed with arthritis in her hands and she has been taking the honey and cinnamon for a couple of weeks and has less pain and feels an improvement every day which can't be bad.

Here are some more.
Colds/Influenza: Take one tablespoon of lukewarm honey with a quarter spoon of cinnamon powder daily for three days. This will cure most chronic coughs and colds and clear the snuses.
Upset stomach/Gas: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root. Not sure of the quantity but just a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of cinnamon will be beneficial.
Immune System: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strenthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Contant use of honey strenthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacterial and viral diseases.
Longevity: Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take 4 tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon of cinammon powder and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also increase.
Fatigue: It's a fact that senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible.
Half a tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinked with cinnamon powder and taken daily after breakfast and in the afternoon around 3pm when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.
Skin Infections: Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected areas cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.
Pimples: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply to the pimples before sleeping and wash off the next morning with warm water. Do this daily for two weeks and it removes pimples from the root.

Hi McA,
Slight variations dependent on the medical condition.
Arthritis: One cup of hot water with 2 tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, 3 times a day.
Take the first before breakfast, then lunchtime and again in the evening. Try it for a month and you will notice a difference.
Bladder infections: Two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It helps to destroy the germs in the bladder.
Cholesterol: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of cinammon powder mixed in 16oz of tea (no milk). Within two hours of drinking it it can reduce the cholesterol level in your blood by 10%. Take it three times a day.
Heart diseases: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder and put it on bread and eat it regularly for breakfast instead of using butter or jam.
Indigestion: Sprinkle cinnamon powder on two tablespoons of honey and take before food. This relieves acidity and digests even the heaviest of meals.
There are lots more I have written down somewhere. I'll dig them out and put them on.

Morning everyone.
Does anyone suffer from one or more of the following list of medical ailments. Heart disease; arthritis; bladder infections; cholesterol; colds; upset stomach; gas; immune system; indigestion; influenza; pimples; skin infections; weight loss; cancer; fatigue; bad breath; hearing loss.
You don't have to tell me which one it is but if anyone is interested I have a home remedy which is proving to be very beneficial to all my clients.
It is a simple combination of honey and cinnamon but used in different quantities and ways for individual conditions.
Bad breath for example can be a thing of the past. All you do is gargle with one teaspoon of honey and ground cinnamon in hot water. Your breath will stay fresh all day.
I'm here for an hour or so before heading off for my lunch calls. So please let me know if you want the details on any of the above ailments.
Won't do you any harm and will certainly do you a lot of good if my peeps are anything to go by. I've been using it myself for fatigue and I have certainly noticed a difference.
