If there is a God and he gave us free-will and the power to think, would it be churlish not to do so?

I always find your posts thought provoking as Joanna says.

I would say that the biggest problem is the goverment does not want people to have free will.

If this happened, the 10% of the population supported by the 90%, would not be in their posts, have money and expensive educations.

This 10% literally rule the country at every level in churches, schools, jobs, etc.

If there is a God, I don't believe he is in the form a lot of the religions portray. Again, the Church has always had problems throughout the centuries controlling people who attend a church or place of worship.

He gave us the power to think and grateful I am for it, makes life so much more interesting. unfortunately it takes practice and so many people seem to find that difficult.

Len, having dropped off to sleep last night, thinking about your question, I wish I could give you a worthy answer.
Thinking about the question again, I can only say that throughout my life I have come to several very important crossroads - and, looking back, yes, I do seem to have been given a choice of at least two options.
And, yes, these crossroads did cause me to think, long and hard, and, on the whole (with hindsight) I am fairly satisfied with my choices.
If this was a gift from whatever Power there may be, wherever - well, if there should come a Reckoning, I hope I am judged to have at least given the choices the thought they deserved.
Now my brain is hurting and I need a lie-down in a darkened room!

Free will???
I am not sure about this because surely we are influenced by others at all times so does this give joint free will?
,Also surely free will, requires an ability to think logically and at the same time we are using our life experience which may not actually be free or logical ?

What matters is that we try to make the choice with a degree of knowledge and the ability to understand the consequences of which ever decision we make.

Yes it is chulrish not to use "free will" but then we have to be responsible for the outcome, and not everyone does this. for example how many times do we hear someone say,"Oh I did think that about........but x said it would be better etc???

Now I shall be thinking about this all day!!

Just about to post and then thought "if we do have a pre destination from a higher power such as God etc, then do we really have free will??
