This afternoon I was channel hopping and came across QVC - the programme was selling leather handbags - the prices, I thought, were extortionate - some over 200 pounds. Would you pay that much for a handbag ? |

I don't think I would, no. I've made a few embroidered bags and I thought I was being optimistic when I put £22.50 on the price tag (even though it was five or six hours work), alhough they weren't leather! |

No I wouldn't, I paid £13 for a bag in the Clarks outlet mall at Street and thought I was spending too much on a bag!! |

Must admit I have loads of handbags . my friends laugh at me but I would not and do not spend anything like that - 9 euros off the market is more like my price. Some of my handbags are years old - I bought them with me from UK to Spain 8 years ago !! |

I can't see why all these handbags are expensive, you are only paying the designer the money |

In 1979 I paid a lot,I think it was about £12 but it could even have been £20.Somebody laughed about the price and showed me her PVC bag she had paid £4 for and all it's benefits. |

I tend to buy a leather handbag when we go on holiday to Italy.I have paid quite a lot ,maybe £70 or £80.But I use them for years and they tend to be a little unusual. So all in all I think it has been money well spent. |

i have to admit that i have a hand bag that was just under £200 however it was a leaving present from my last job, i love it but would never have spent that much if i were buying one for myself. |

£2-3 in charity shops, only own one large one for everyday, and a small black one for funerals. |

My daughter works for Mulberry and lots of their bags are more than £200. Even in these hard times they are still selling plenty. Wouldn't pay that much myself though. |
