Cant find my previous threads (or rather Genes cant find em!!) so just to let you know that my SIL Joan who was in Harefield Hospital cos she had an abscess in her chest was transferred back to Northwick Park Hospital last Wednesday. We tried to visit on Tuesday this week but roadworks on the M25 tossed us off and we got hopelessly lost!! we left home in Kent at 10am and at 2.15pm we gave up and went home .spent 6 hours and drove some 150 plus miles and didnt get to the Hospital. |

I hope she makes good progress now that she is home, maybe worrying about her OH was holding up her recovery, at least now she can see he is OK. What a pain not to be able to get there after all that travelling, I am sure you were both exhausted and frustrated. Best wishes to you SiL |

Well spoke to Joan today and an pleased to say she is up and about. She still has the feeding tube in although its been reduced in size so she can get her clothes on !! /She has been told it has to stay in place for three months till the inners have healed and then they can withdraw it!. She is eating normally?? ie can swallow small amounts of finely chopped food like egg etc ,she doesn't feel hungry though which is a bit worrying cos she may not be eating enough. |
