Joy Babes, my sentiments entirely. Our weatherman on local radio (he used to be in Eastenders) forecasted this rain yeasterday. So I cut off three seed heads from a hardy Arum Lily. I am now drying them out to give to a lady who grows plants and sells them from the roadside outside her cottage, for SCOPE.
We had planned, because OH has to go and pay his car insurance, to have a shopping trip to a nearby town. We are still going, despite the rain. In this town there is a W.H. Smith, so I can look for specials, eg. hardbacks on offer. There is also, probably the last of it's breed, a wool shop, which I particularly want to visit. I have decided that now the gardening season is practically at an end, to get out my crochet hooks for the winter afternoons. I am getting itchy fingers, and want to do something crative. There is also a couple of good charity shops that I love to visit. The town also boasts a much larger T****s than our town, and sells paperbacks, CD's and DVD's, so a time to stock up.
OH just come from his ofice and said it is 'wanging' it down - Derbyshire vernacular. But I am determinded to go. I do not get out much these days except to do the weekly M*******sons, but that is a necessity rather than a pleasure.
Lets hope it brightens up abit this afternoon.
Hav'nt had a good post for ages
Love to all

Joy, glad you and stray and baby Satan managed to get out despite the weather
I managed my few hours out also. Lovely drive through a valley seeing the changing colours of the trees, and by then the rain had stopped. Got the knitting wool I was after, and which I am dying to start with. Also got a jigsaw and another new James Patterson novel, what a prolific writer, I seem to buy a new one of his each week. I got a couple of pots from the charity shop for my plants and a lovely little watercolour painting. All that spent before I hit T***co. Well that's me pension spent for this week, but I did enjoy it, just to get out, despite the dampness. Just had a lovely senior nap, before I start on the next job.
Take care all of you in the Boro

We're now on a Met. Office weather warning for rain tonight. We have had no significant rain for six weeks, so by the sounds of it, it is going to catch up with us tonight.
