Although it is absolutely wonderful to have them online and to be able to search as and when instead of just when I can grab the time at the LMA but is anyone else left feeling a bit flat by what they can't find?

I have two great x 2grandparents whose baptisms don't appear and one great x 3 grandfather's who doesn't. Possible they were non-conformist but unlikely and it's just more likely they weren't baptised and it feels like that's it with them:(

Also, I'd forgotten just how dire the St Matthew Bethnal Green burials were in the C18th - all you get is the name so it's very unlikely you can actually discover which of the many people with the same name is yours:((

I can't search for myself but somebody has very kindly searched for me and can't find the marriage of my Gtx3 Grandfather, The hope was always there that I would eventually find it and I don't know where to look now.

Not 'flat' as yet, but more confused than I was hoping to be... though it is very nice to see some of the images ( am I being 'pretentious when I am quietly thrilled that most of mine could sign their own names? lol) which , for example , place my gt gt grandfather at his daughters wedding and gt unle as witness etc , the ones I really need to link everything up aren't there... well I've not found them as yet anyway :)

That's good, Dizzi - you can start looking for his first marriage now.

Ann, how likely is is that they didn't marry? I had hoped my bapitsmless great x 2 grandparents' marriage would turn up in PRs as it's not in the marriage indices. I'm not really surprised and their children were generally very latchy about marrying too. If you want me to have a look for anything, just pm me.

lol Rose, I am so chuffed with some of my finds - especially the new line back to the C17th;) - and a lot of my Huguenot weavers could sign their names (or the men anyway) - really good to have examples of their signature isn't it and it helps matching their signatures as witnesses to prove connections.

Uggers, I suppose it is possible that he didn't marry although that would not be the norm in his family. Trouble is he was not a Londoner but his 'wife' was born in Bow according to the census. Thanks for the offer I will bear it in mind.

Kay, most of the parishes in the areas I'm looking seem to be covered pretty well. Do you know what sections are missing?

Uggers, I have so many family in London after moving from Warrington, Cheshire and Wales and they must all have been heathens! OH's I can understand as they were gypsies but yes it's frustrating.

Hi Folks.
Took me a while to realise that the majority of Westminster records aren“t there because the Westminster Archives are held seperately & are not on line.
Naturally, the Westminster ones are the ones I need most.

The ones I have found, are very clear originals.

I wonder if the ease of transcribing for the search data base was one consideration for inclusion?
