Council launches guide to sexual health for over 50s

Chapters including 'Let's talk about sex' and 'Dating advice', feature in the Guide To Good Sexual Health for the Over 50s, launched tomorrow.

The 47-page book, illustrated with photos of Manchester residents, also explores sexually transmitted infections and body changes.
The guide will be among the first in the country aimed at encouraging a healthy sex life among older people.

Five-thousand copies of the book have been produced at a total cost of £8,000 to Manchester Council and NHS Manchester.

I think it's a good idea. Clap clinics are not just the domain of the under 30s. People over 50 still have sex, still make mistakes and can often be a lot less streetwise about STIs than younger people - I think it can often be about naivety rather than immaturity.

~~~~~Maggie :))
Keith..it is undemanding when you've got flu lol...I even watched Jeremy Kyle lol...but I'm getting better.
Uggers that was one of the points made that older people who had been in long term relationships ( widowed/ divorced etc ) were less likely perhaps to consider the importance of protection against STI s as opposed to birth control.
Hi Rose I watched that as well.. but then The show makes me laugh so much, especially the sex day with Julie Peasgood.
As for the booklet, Manchester council have got better projects to spend council tax on! Complete waste of money and paper..
