Forwarding round robin emails

How careful are you?

If you send on one of those round robin emails, do you send it to each person separately, or to several names at one time?
I have received several over the past few months, with the email addresses of people it has been sent to before there for all to see! I delete these before forwarding the email, separately to friends & relations. I know they are trustworthy but not sure who else may receive it!

I rarely foward anything where the sender hasn't deleted recipients names, but if I do I'm always careful to delete previous names on them.

Also I send it in the first instance to a defunct address we've got for the purpose, not difficult, Yahoo and hotmail are free, and I put the rest of the recipients addresses in the BCC bar. That way, nobody sees any other addresses except their own and the defunct one.

If only others would take more care.

I hate those 'pass this on' type of email. Pass it on to twenty friends, one said recently. If I did that I shouldn't have many friends left.

I once exchanged information with someone on Genes and she bombarded me with emails about angels and things. When I changed my email I didn't tell her.

It is quite amazing how many email addys I could have collected!

E-mails that I send on I delete all e-mail addys and BCC to those I am sending it to. I do sometimes wonder though how many people have MY email addy because it hasn't been deleted it before being sent on.
I know of at least 2 people who have my address through other people, 1 I don't mind she could have asked me and the other I don't know from Adam except that he is a friend of my sisters and I occasionally get joke mails from them.
TW I hadn't thought about sending them to a defunct addy first but then I would end up checking that one for mail also !!!

Not wishing to sound like an old grouch on this subjest, but I dislike them with a passion. I have only found one of particualr interest, and one faintly amusing.
But I do, understand what Carol means about peoples e-mail addresses.
For myself, I never forward them, wish the person who sends them, would not, which I have asked her once but she seems to have started again, and I delete them
As I said, whilst not wanting to seem like an old grouch, they do not appeal to my sense of humour.

One member of this site who I had forwarded a census image to - then included my email addy when sending an email to 30 other people.

After that I started to get spam.

I always delete any names before forwarding anything. I use BCC if I send one email to many so only my email only appears to them

Sadly though, a friend passes round emails, and I often get jokes with half a page of email addys attatched. I have explained what BCC is but they just dont get it.
Its obvious anything I send to him (hes my mates hubby & they share an account) is forwarded along with my addy to the others on his joke list as ive recieved the same email back but as a bulk forwarding along.

. One day I got an email from a male mate of his saying as I sent and recieved rude email jokes from friends hubby he would send me one.

It was a few piccies of a mans giant willy and where it dissappeared into !!!.

Needless to say, i remieded the problem by blocking mates hubbys mates mails and appearing as if my email addy was rejecting incoming mails.

so far havent had any more trouble.

If I find anything worthy of passing on I usually copy n paste the message/joke whatever into a fresh email and delete the original.

In effect they are a type of chain mail arent they and I always tear them up so I also just delete these messages as I just dont trust them

Yes, I delete... but everyone on the original list could be sending them on to anyone!
