Some are at Kew and some more recent are held by the Courts Service.

Go to Search the Catalogue on their website, put the surname in and use J77 as the reference to search.

The more recent ones are not available for the public to search. The search has to be done by the Courts Service.

Early 60's you'll need to apply to the Court - Family division - address above. The divorces I found recently with 1961 and in 1968 and I got the info from Holborn in London - but its very expensive I think I paid £50 for each one - just to confirm they did get divorced.

thank you MB I might leave it in that case. My partner's mum married in 1966, her ex died in 1967, yes we believe those dates are correct, that's what it says on certs, so one day we may learn the truth.
