Got back a few minutes ago from a most enjoyable evening where he told us his life story. He sang one song at the end which I didn't know about being in the prime of life and taking things slowly. It was all to promote his book Moon River and Me really but very enjoyable. got my book signed along with crowds of other people, shook hands with him and he thanked us for going. A lovely present.

Glad you had a good evening saw him on Strictly come Dancing on Sat and thought he looked frail and his voice had lost something BUT he still had stage charisma
I think when his marriage broke up then he did too as he really loved his wife.

I am glad you enjoyed yourself and got his autograph too. What a memorable birthday gift.

Hello everyone, yes it was a lovely evening in the company of a gentleman in all sense of the word. He did say he had married 18 years ago and they had moved south and he'd had a theatre built named The Moon River", and he had taken up singing again after a lapse......Not only got his autograph but shook hands with him, still a very attractive looking man took a photo of him with my mobile phone not too good as I wasn't near enough and he was signing a person's book, but hey, memories.

Sorry I didn't get back on here last night, was freezing on railway station so we had a warm drink and went to bed - - to dream the impossible dream-- we are off to the caravan for ten days in a few minutes grabbing some time between hospital appointments.

So pleased you enjoyed it, I was worried you may be disappointed as I thought his voice had lost something of the magic when I heard him on Strictly come dancing, he also looked very frail. But I guess his personality is still the same, we both loved his music, he has given so many people a lot of pleasure. I will look forward to reading his book. And as has been said, a lovely present to remember.

What a lovely memory,May.I too saw him on Strictly and thought he seemed frail and his voice a bit strained,but good on him for still keeping touring and giving pleasure to the thousands of people who enjoy his type of music.

I think that when stars take time out to sign books or cds then they appreciate the public who come to see them .I saw Camille O`Sullivan in Edinburgh and stood in a queue to get her cd signed - they were 40 in front of us and she was obviously tired but she chatted to everyone in that lovely Irish accent
