Was on my way to Tescos & had seen an elderly man had fallen over, so i & someone else pulled over to see if he was OK.

He had banged his nose on the pavement and there was a lot of blood...He didn't want an ambulance cos he had 2 dogs with him so i drove him home & left my phone number just incase.

Julia, can I suggest you go back to check on him. There's no telling what effect a fall can have on an elderly person, and it worries me that he didn't answer the door to you.

Many elderly people don't want to make a fuss, so cover up a lot.

Teresa..i don't think he was in as i never heard the dogs either...I will pop round later though

Julie,

Your actions has reminded me of a 'good deed for the day' on Tuesday.

I dropped off Mum-in-law, in her 90s, at the hairdresser and an elderly lady was coming out. She commented she had forgotten her umbrella and it had started to drizzle. She was going to walk to the bus station so I offered to give her a lift to her home, which it turned out was about 2 miles away. I think in that short journey I was told all her life story including the fact she was almost 84.

When I dropped her at her door, she thanked me and said she wasn't used to such kindness.

I felt I had done something useful.

Elisabeth

Pleased to see the gent is feeling ok.

Elisabeth, the sad thing there was that she said she wasn't used to such kindness. So well done you and, well done Julie, our good neighbours for the day.

I didn't think I was doing anything unusual - I just believe that what goes around comes around. I hope someone will take pity on me when I am old - or should that be older? I am a pensioner after all!

Happy weekend to everyone.

Takes my hat off to Julie...One act of kindness can mean so, so much.
Thank you Julie. xxx

Edit... for Artic Blonde... why does this happen...we do our normal chores/work...every day and something decides we change our usual ritual.
Strange when we somehow have to change our normal duties we come by chance to a meet of someone who needs our assistance.

Thank you Marion. xxx
