Dizzi you have to have a sense of humour with this situation and Daff has it in bucket loads. If she didn't laugh it would be soul destroying. Oooh He'd probably love the stone!!! |

I have told the solicitor.... took me ages to type it all out, lol so she will have gone home by now... I have been onto the Planning Portal... and it is almost certainly to do with the fact that it is open plan... but that shouldn't preclude the planting of flowers and stuff.... I want to put some of the veggies needing more light there, as well.... I mean, we are being told to be greener, and I ruddy well am not planting my veg or fruit where anyone can just walk over and take their pick... and that is exactly what will happen if it isn't fenced off. |

If what is saying is right, and I assume he knows his job!!! Shouldn't it be marked as such on your deeds? And if it isn't can you contest it? It is of course a money spinner for the council given that planning permission costs!!! Have you checked with you solicitor or is it too specialized? |

I know, Ann.... it seems very odd.... the poor lad was very patient with me... but he just kept on saying that it was designated as green area.... but there is nothing to indicate that, the green area is a band where a pavement would be.... and is clearly marked... we don't own that bit, but are responsible for the upkeep..... that is fine... but he is talking about the bit from next door's drive, garage wall, and fence..... to our own driveway... he did say that we could probably get away with putting a small border running alongside the driveway.... it all seems very strange. But that is quite a big bit of garden.... and has the best sunshine, lol!! |

Yes I knew about the gravel/block paving law. Strange as neighbours down the road from us have had block paving done in the past month. I didn't see a planning request go up. Maybe for that they don't have to post it. I didn't realise that you had to have planning permission for flower beds on your own land though |
