My daughter ( aged 24 ) has just had this tattooed on her bicep , along with an anchor..............she thinks it's great but I'm wondering if she will regret it .

Anyone got a tattoo that they now wish they hadn't ?

She may not regret it, but I agree its not the best place.

I had a tattoo done almost 20 years ago now, I thought long and hard about it before it was done and I dont regret it, although what was once a small Dolphin is now more like a Blue Whale, we all know you put on weight the morning you wake up being 30 and never loose it again!

I have it somewhere where I choose by the cut of swim/sportswear to either display it or not. I still display it now if im on holiday with family or freinds, but if I am involved in any sort of sporting activity as 'Team Building' with colleagues its not visable and no one knows its there.

When things drop further South I will be able to still go to the beach with out displaying it and I think thats one of the wisest choices I ever made.

Without intending any disprespect to older people with Tatoos, they dont look good on women of a certain age when they start to bleed and fade.

My dad had many tattoo's in his youth and will wear a long sleeved shirt in the even hottest weather - he regrets them now and for having them so visable and suffers the consequences by never wearing a T shirt or a short sleeved shirt no matter how hot it is.

I have a feeling that in ten - twenty years time they'll be a booming business in tattoo removal.....it seems to be a craze that's gone a bit overboard .....

I'm not against tatoos in principal....just think it's all gone a bit crazy and as you say Amanda......waaaay too much room for regrets later in life xx

My mother had a half inch circle tattooed on her shoulder, and would never tell us why she had it done.

I would love to get a tattoo but am too scared to go through with it.
I would have it where I could cover it up though

Jean,

maybe she had had a true love that was unobtainable? and had a " Virtual", permanent ring?

My daughters " Hello Sailor " tattoo isn't her only one , in fact she has several dotted about her personage . I often say to her " I wonder what your going to look like when your a little old lady ? ".
Unfortunately one of her friends partners has just acquired a tattoo gun , hence the new " skin art ??? "................she was as a child the sort who scribbled on her dollys..........I wonder if there is a connection ?
