don't say please or thankyou when asking for your money? just a blank " £ 3.98 " then slap the change in your hand..... I was very tempted to say " What's the magic word" lol

yep or carry on a conversation with someone else..." Are you off out tonight Doreen "...there is nothing more annoys me or I simply feel is more jolly rude is someone having a conversation with someone else... I went to a meeting at with my sister and she works at MIA, we had to wait to be escorted through sercurity and one of my sisters colleagues was searching a handbag spotted my sister and started to chat to her...I thought it was dreadful and bad customer service.

Hi Rose
try being on the side other all day....lol

someone walks in , you say " good morning " and get greeted with a grunt,
people complaining about price's...we don't set the !
you could have a shop full of people and be half way through serving them and their phone goes off, they answer it and then walk around having a conversation,
all the people in the queue look at you as if its your fault that you can't serve them.
also we get no please or thank you.

At the end of the day bad manners are bad manners no matter which side of the counter your standing.

Just off for a shower,I've got a few please and thank you's to say in the pub later....lol

I went, for a short while, to a hairdresser who talked the whole time to another assistant and Her customer! Had no idea about me!

I always say please and thankyou to them, even if they do not to me, I always think they act rude because they do not like their jobs

I've worked in the pub trade all my adult life, if we wern't polite to our customers we would soon get our marching orders.

Not only polite, but so welcoming that they would want to come again.

Blue Moon lol, I WAS 'on the other side' for around 20 years , worked in retail from age 16, that's partly why it annoys me so much :)) It's much the same when I see staff standing around doing nothing in shops, when I can see what needs to be done :)

I made the girl on the checkout in S-burys chuckle this afternoon.......

the card machine was a bit slow so I was making windy -up and ratchety motions.

Rose , I work in a trade shop, their is me and three lads,
I have been working their for about 14 years and I still have a few male and females who won't ask me for advice,
if I'm the only one at the counter they start talking to me but as soon as one of the lads walk past they will ignore me and start talking to them,
I have even been asked if they can speak to one of the lads as they need some technical advice, its a bit embarrassing for them when the lads ask me whats the right thing to do !!
hows that for bad manners.....lol
