The first vehicle I drove after passing my test was a small van which carried loads inside that blocked the rear window so like Bob I had to learn to reverse on the side mirrors. Being a tich I can't see any of the bonnet or boot on my car, but have parking sensors on my present car.......they are a boon for getting out of tight parking spaces, especially when the rear screen hasn't fully demisted or for reversing in the dark!! They are quite cheap to have fitted.

when I was driving a big van, well, big for me, a Ducato, 2.0 with no windows in the rear doors,I had to learn how to reverse park using the mirrors, instead of rubber necking.....

makes life a lot easier once you get the hang of it.....with my Picasso you cant see ANY of the corners......

Oh Dawnie I do sympathise (how do you spell that flamin word?).

Has passed my test the week before and decided to reverse into the drive, had always driven in, because we lived on a busy road. Very bad move. Had my youngest in the back (age 6) and told him to let me know when I got too near the gate post..... very tight fit. Heard a crunch.... aaaargh!. Panicked .... didn't know which way to turn the steering wheel and got myself in a complete mess. Got out of the car, left it sticking out into the street and ran to a neighbour for help.

Asked my son why he didn't tell me I was going to hit the gate post, well it wasn't my fault was it!!. He said "because I didn't want you to shout at me" !!!. As if.

Had the gate post moved by a foot after that but I am still cr*p at reverse parking. lol

Very expensive, bad manouver. (can't spell that either). lol

Lissy uses my car to practice in but hasnt parked in drive yet as its a tight fit so tonight left me to put car away.
Had Tiddler messing about and had a child in street on bike i was watching so took me a few attempts to get car in and thought i had just hit the stone that keeps gate open

Wasnt til Liy handed me the mudguard and trim from back wheel realied it was a bit more than stone i hit.

WHOOPS hubby going to look at it in daylight tomorrow see exactly how badly i have damaged it.
