the police and firemen are paid enough

why how much are they paid ? I dont think nurses are..

i dont have a clue how much they earn hayley
it just seems they do a rotten job
for no amount of money would i
enter a burning house and drag a body out

no way could i do it

and the thought of that body been a child turns my belly

i could do it for a living child
but not one thats ****
look i cant even type it

No no no and no, as a mother of a police officer, who has been battered spat on and bruised from head to toe, my friends husband is also a fireman, and for the job they do i don't think the wage is appropriate.

None of the front line staff are paid enough.

The LifeboatRescue service is often overlooked.
They are on call throughout the year and most are volunteers.

Well as its a Debate, WE the paying public must think realistically,
Of course these frontline public servants deserve a realistic wage, BUT
it all depends on how much WE can afford to pay them.
assume each fulltime copper gets a minimum of £30k, times that by the amount of coppers we need, ( and likely we will all agree that we need MORE coppers)

PLUS all the high tech gadgets like radar, speed guns, tasers, super radios, computers,forensics, super cars like the essex crews have,these all need paying for


also assume each fulltime fireman also gets a minimum of £30k then add nurses, ambulance staff, they ALL deserve a realistic wage which we may not be able to pay!

then also add our service men, THEY all deserve a realistic wage.....
and the equipment to do their jobs efficiently and safely......

THEN...............not forgetting our highly esteemed politicians,

THEY are a totally different case,
because we all know that the first thing THEY do in office is to vote themselves a pay rise, whether its deserved or not!!

Bob, we could demand the MP's are paid less - after all they're demanding more than many people earn in expenses!!!
About time they realised they're working for US - and WE pay them!!!
That would save a few million.

Nobody in any service industry gets paid enough for what they do.

When you think what Polititions award themselves it makes me sick,they obviously deluding themselves that they deserve it, more than folk who do the real work.

Mac, they were taking the pee charging you 22p for a packet of fags, I only used to pay a tanner for twenty Players,mind that was overseas.**M**.

Well if we got rid of those time and money wasting "Quangoes" ( Jobs for the Boys) we,d probably have enough to pay them a decent wage.they cost the Country Billions of un neccessary funding for pet projects which lots of people niether want or understand the need for them.**M**
