A few weeks ago Ihad a hot match contact with same ancestor
so on viewing each others trees an verifying names and dates
was asked if I had original certs as I said no I only had copies
at moment but which they could have. there has been no more contact
As this was a connection to my gr g r mother I WAS OVERJOYED. Ah well back to the drawing board and please excuse the outburst but had to get it of my chest to someone

I made contact with a daughter of My Uncle, and yes, he was born out of wed lock, but so what, she is evading me, and that makes me sad, as I would love to know my uncle's life. Shame, but so it happens.

IF I had paid for real certificates,or had certs which were handed down, I would only forward copies, the originals are mine........

Gordon Bennett - what does this person expect!!!
I have my original certificate - somewhere - but both my children have copies of their originals.
They must be somewhere, but needing them for Uni, jobs etc, they're bound to get lost some time or other.
They have the same information as the original (I know - I was there when the originals were written!), so what's this person's problem?

I have had some great contact who have sent me copies of certificates and I have sent to them. It saves us both money. What is purchased from UK and Australia are only copies, so what is their problem?

I do have 4 original certificates, one from 1911, they are very treasured, I do not have a problem sharing these either, but the person who receives them only gets a copy. I will always have the originals. The information is still there no matter it is original or a copy of a copy.
