Anyone else having trouble with AOL ?

It's taken all day to get connected, spoken again & again to someone in a far off land that i could hardly understand at all & was no help at all, last night when i turned puter off it did 14 automatic updates, i'm beging to think this may have caused my probs, back on now but i don't know how i did it.

AOL ALWAYS OFF LINE

That's why I left AOL. I had no end of trouble getting connected, I spent ages on the phone to them time and again while they said "do this, do that, etc", I got so sick of it I switched ISP. Best thing I ever did.

Been disconnected so many times , that I gave up, only just come on..
I can't even get onto aol on my user area have to use OH....

Pain in the bum.

I HAD to upgrade from aol8, it went to AOL9 VR.

i somehow lost my im's and buddy list...for my main username.......second one was ok...asked for help, they tried but didnt fix the problem...suggested uninstalling and re install etc............found eventually that I still had a aol9 disc. loaded that still no joy eventually noticed I was getting essential updates, and lo and behold after about 5 of these my problem was fixed.......but talk about loading treacle...... takes about 5 minutes at times to get to my emails......always has......

Don't want to talk things up but earlier this year we had an horrendous time and I was offline for a while because of it. Didn't matter who we spoke to - finally got it sorted somehow but cost a fortune in phone calls as well as too much time and patience to be acceptable.


I tried to register with a site about Corfu before I went away, and the confirmation email never arrived, I queried it and was told aol won't accept members joining up so I can't join and post questions or answers.

I'd forgotten that, yes they prevented me joining something as well. You can get round it though, you can get yourself a hotmail address.

Maybe somebody else can tell you how to do this, I can't remember what I did now!
