It's clear to me that the growth in family research is a direct result of the ease with which we can access records via the internet. I can't see many of us visiting register offices and libraries in other cities (and during their opening hours!!) The obstacle I now face is probably faced by others. I cannot obtain birth records past 2005 or Electoral Roll information from the 1990s. I know it's because the Government no longer sell records to commercial companies. What I'm not clear about is why. Perhaps someone can explain. |
