I'm looking into my husbands family tree and I've come across something that is really puzzling me!! In the 1891 census I have found Nicholas Braddock who is my husbands gt gt grandad, his wife is listed as Margaret Elizabeth age 31, in the 1901 census his wife is listed as Ann Braddock age 40! I have searched for marriages between Nicholas and Ann in the years between the two census reports and found nothing, is it possible that it could be the same person, if anyone has any thoughts on the matter I would greatly appreciate the input, many thanks.

The 1911 census says that N Braddock and Annie were married 11 years

Edited: after viewing the actual image...it says 26 years married (1885) ( just goes to prove, don't always take notice of a transcription )

RG number:

And before anyone moans at me for giving away 1911 census details, there isn't much more here than a quick search would have found and much much more if the image is downloaded/payed for by the questioner.

Personally I think she is the same woman !

the cheaper option is to buy the 1911 census and see how long they say they are married for.

Hi Lindsey,

Yes but it doesn't explain why she is named Margaret in one of the census'.
