lol thanks for this thread Daff. It's helping me out! I have had a pud in the cupboard for ages that my old ladies passed on to me as they didn't want it, it was in a hamper they had given them. It's an Asda Extra Special one with Cointreau and it's a big'un - 450g, best before date June 07 but no use by date so should be ok. O.h. and my son don't like Christmas pud so I kept meaning to eat it myself lol but never got round to it. It's got a massive 1,364 calories tho! No suet in, it's a veggie one with veg oil etc I was thinking of slicing it and frying it in butter but better not with all those calories. |

Thank you for your replies, lolol, I thought as much.... these are delicious, bought ones, but have been buying this brand for a while, usually in January ready for the next year... we were supposed to take these to DiL Christmas 2007, and then she phoned as we were leaving and said that someone else had made them, and given some to her, so keep them for another time..... well, last Christmas, currants, nuts and stuff was out... I was on a very strict neutropenic diet..... and these are rather large.......... mmm... well, I'll risk it!! |

I still have 2 small Christmas puds in my cupboard . been there for at least 3 years I should think and I will be using them this Christmas. Never even thought to look at sell by dates. |

Christmas puds last forever, they have to put a sell by date on by law, but somethings do not need one, infact I think things like christmas puds get better with age |
