Hello Ann, last week on one of your Greaders threads, you menti ned a book called The Secret Scripture, by Sebastian Barry. Do you know if this is in paperback or hardback, and what price.
The reason I ask, is that tomorrow, by way of a treat, we are going to another town that has a W.H. Smith, so that, now the clocks have gone back, we can stock up on Jigsaw Puzzles. Also, I can get my Christmas reading list started. I also have two 20% vouchers for Smith,s so it is an ideal time to make a start.
Also, has anyone read the latest Patricia Cornwall, called The Scarpeta Factor. I used to enjoy reading her works, but the last two have been very disappointing for me.
Many Thanks

I enjoyed The Scarpetta Factor, but having read it quite some while ago, I think PC may have a more recent book out.

Thank you all for getting back to me.
JMW, I thought I had got it wrong when I read your reply, so have ferrited down the blue paper bag, (due to be emptied tomorrow), for the Times Bests Sellers list for the PC book. It is listed as a new entry for last week, and in hard back at £18.99. That's why I asked the question if it was any good, because her last couple have taken some understanding. I did not want to give that price if it was no good. I'll wait until it comes out in paperback. I deplore it when these top authors get a good following of readers, and then start to be published in hardback. It is alot of money to give for a book, whether it turns out to be good or not.
Thanks again all

Steve, thank you very much for this information. It is a good job I have two 20% vouchers off. I can send OH to get the jigsaws with one, and myself use the other for books, as my list seems to be getting longer. I also fancy the new one about the Queen Mum, which I think is also on offer at half price.
Many thanks again
