We got our first from a friend last weekend, hand delivered because she said she can't afford the postage.. I think a lot of people will have a struggle this year especially if the price of a stamp goes up further. The
postage costs more than the card usually. Will this abolish this old custom does anyone think, I hope not, I love sending and receiving Christmas cards.

I expect mine is at my house too!
I usually get one very early from a school friend, but not this early lol

If I put it somewhere safe will I find it again when it's time to put the cards up?

Hoping Superdrug do their discount on stamps then I can get loads of first class ones with I think it is 5 or 10% off, which helps as I usually end up posting frantically at the last minute so need first class and with the discount it doesn't work out much different in cost to using second class stamps. I did get some cards last week but have lots over from last year to use up too if I can find them lol

Julie Ann, what a little genius your granddaughter is bless her.
she made it herself?

And Dianne, your little boy has his first pressie?
Is it a serious relationship? ha ha ha

How much is a stamp these days?

I bought two books the day the price was to go up..... but I've used them now.
I should have done what Joyce did and send my cards out early.

WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS...... AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR...... tra la la

My card arrived today, with one of those pay £1.08 stickers on cos it was too big for the stamp price, if you know what I mean. I don't think our Joyce knows about the changes in size/cost as she probably wasn't in the UK when the changes happened, was it the year before last? Our postman is lazy so didn't bother to ring for the money lol, bet they don't get many of the surcharges as they probably don't keep a record of those with the stickers put on.

It's a lovely card Joyce, thanks so much. At least you won't have to worry about your cards being stuck in some strike backlog! I must do mine earlier this year.

Deanna, Superdrug often have their stamps with a discount on but only first class ones - I stock up as much as I can as it saves me money through the year then and works out near enough the same as second class ones.
