whats the longest flight you have been on,
Mine is 10 and half hours to Brazil, the worst flight ever, with what I am sure the smallest seats, to read it all sounded great, we weres'pose to fly from Manchester to London then get our connection flight to Brazil, once at Heathrow we discovered that the flight from there was to San Paul'o not Rio. We were flown 1st class from Manchester and flew over London which was fantastic, then once there a 9 hour wait, we tried to up grade having had a little taste of 1st class and couldnt, once at St Paul'o we had to wait anoher 2 hours for 30 min flight to Rio, luckily we didnt have to do it on return, we flew from palmer ababy 2 hour flight..

Mine was the first flight about 1965 which was 27 hours to Singapore. We were flying to join my father who was stationed there in the RAF.
However the worst flight was 3 years ago when I flew back from New York on an indirect flight to Manchester with Alitailia. We arrived in Milan ................yes Milan to find that our flight to Manchester had been cancelled and we were then to fly to Strasburg which was then cancelled 4 hours later. Then booked onto a flight to Frankfurt which thankfully took us home. As we landed in Manchester our flight was the last one to be allowed due to fog and all later flights ended up being diverted to Cardiff. In total we were travelling for 22 hours. Will and have never done indirect flights since.................

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 28 Oct 2009 09:15

Longest flight was to New Zealand and back in 2008.

We went via Hong Kong where we changed from one plane to another.Never saw our baggage after checking in at Heathrow, until we arrived in N.Z.
Can't remember times, about 26 hours?
It was great and quite comfortable.
I hadn't thought too much about the actual route, so was happy to follow the inflight route map instead of watching a film for a while. I was surprised when we headed off over Scandinavia and then over Russia.
The longest part of the whole journey seemed to be from Hong Kong onwards, as in my mind I was 'nearly there' and was eager to get to Auckland.
I'd go again tomorrow and hope to return there one day.

Well I hope to get to Kent one day as that is where a lot of my ancestors are from Gwyn.
I live in Auckland and I have never been very eager to get here when I am coming back from overseas.
I think my longest flight was from New York to London - what should have been a short flight ended up with us arriving several hours late with one engine down. It did mean I got extra sleep which I was not expecting to have.

I suppose the longest and most memorable flight I was on was from Bali to London...by Aeroflot:-) We were delayed in Moscow Airport for 8 hours and I spent those hours in the company of five Russian pilots, a Bottle of Vodka and a large box of Russian chocolates..oh yes and lots of singing! pmsl...*eyes grow misty at the memory.....BC XXX

BC Can anyone top that ????? Lol!!!

Not sure which of the US flights was the longest but one flight to Florida we were delayed for 10 hours at Gatwick so, while the flight was only about 11 hours the travelling time was a lot longer and we had 4 of us adults and the three Grandsons with the youngest being 7 years old.

I think it was 11 hours to Kenya - Manchester to Gatwick first and then Gatwick to Mobassa. bloody murder in cramps seats

Since then 9 hours to Canada twice - once in cramped seats and said never again and them this years I went business class as I was travelling alone and wanted comfort and not to be squashed next to a stranger and it was lovely this time, just a pity I can't afford it again for a couple of years or more lol
