My condolences in buckets full Frances. I was with my Mum, in the nursing home when she 'went'. Dad had nipped home for something to eat, though they could have catered for him. It was very peaceful, all I could have wanted for her, and a final release from all her pain.
Take care of yourself now, you will need to.
With lots of HUGS at this time

God saw that she was getting tired,

You could not make her stay.

Frances, I had the same call in 1995 and as you say, it strikes you hard even tho you know the time had to come.... We do seem to think people will go on forever but now bless her, she is at rest and in time your pain will ease altho it may not seem so right now.

May your dear Mum rest in peace, one day you will be together again.

My deepest sympathy to you and all the family who loved your Mum
